The Statistical Yearbook of the SR 2024 is the most extensive and comprehensive work summarizing various types of indicators for the entire year. It contains high-quality, independent and reliable statistical information about various areas of life in Slovakia. Data for the yearbook is obtained by the Statistical Office of the SR from hundreds of different administrative sources, from citizens and business entities.

It provides hundreds of thousands of new data in 2023 as a follow-up to the previous four years. It also shows the development of the most important indicators over the period of 20 years of Slovakia's membership in the European Union. The statistical information is divided into 31 thematic chapters with more than 400 tables, while the data complement the methodological basis. The key indicators of each chapter are also displayed in clear charts, the publication offers a total of 120 visualized information.

The publication contains unique statistical indicators of the economy, such as the most recent gross domestic product and its structures, inflation, data on the labor market, industry, construction, agriculture, trade, tourism, transportation and other services.

It also presents the latest statistics on the population, education, healthcare, social state aid, business entities or the environment, as well as research and development. It informs about crime, various characteristics of court activities, and also about traffic accidents or victims and damages caused by natural disasters. Users of the publication will also find comparisons of Slovakia with the EU countries in selected parameters.

A wide range of information from the yearbook can be used both by experts and the lay public in making decisions, making and commenting on policies, preparing summaries, overviews, analyzes or scientific papers. The scope and quality of the data in the publication enables to evaluate the current state, adjust processes and predict the future.

The yearbook is available electronically, entirely free of charge from the moment of publication. The electronic format of the publication enables to improve timeliness of data and to publish the most important data in several editions spread over time according to their availability. The first edition of the Statistical Yearbook of the SR 2024 will be released on December 2, 2024. The second edition, published on January 20, 2024, will be extended with the later available data from the field of healthcare, investments and long fixed assets, as well as energy.
