The Programme of State Statistical Surveys is a generally binding legal act compiled by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic in cooperation with ministries, other government authorities and state organizations. It contains the list of statistical surveys which are organized and executed by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic, ministries, other government authorities and state organizations. The Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic issues the Programme of State Statistical Surveys in the form of a decree published in the Collection of Legal Acts of the Slovak Republic.
Statistical surveys as the part of the State Statistical Surveys Programme are for a limited range of reporting units obligatory in terms of the obligation to provide data. Reporting obligation arises for a reporting unit when the competent authority invites it to complete respective statistical questionnaires. Every reporting unit shall provide data to the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic from 1 January 2016 by filling in and sending questionnaire in an electronic form. The reporting unit who is a physical person or a physical person – entrepreneur and by 31 December of previous calendar year does not have any employee, or the reporting unit who has a seat in the municipality without internet connection or signal can fulfil the obligation of providing data also by delivery of the questionnaire in a paper form (§ 18, article 5 of the act No. 540/2001 Coll. on Official Statistics, as amended). Authority carrying out state the statistical survey and ensuring its processing is required to protect confidential and personal data of respondent against misuse. Principles of confidential data protection are published in the section Services.
