The Statistical Office of the SR will publish its flagship publication Statistical Yearbook of the Slovak Republic 2024 on Monday, December 2, 2024. For 34 years, this most extensive and comprehensive work has been bringing high-quality, independent and reliable data from various areas of life in Slovakia. It includes hundreds of thousands of new information for the year 2023, following on from the previous four years. The most significant indicators are presented for a period of 20 years, providing an overview of Slovakia's development since joining the European Union in 2004.
The work presents unique statistical indicators of the economy, such as the most recent development of the gross domestic product and its structures, inflation, labor market, as well as data on industry, construction, agriculture, trade, tourism, transportation and other services.
It also provides the latest statistics on the population, education, healthcare, social state aid, business entities, the environment, and research and development. It informs about crime, various characteristics of court activities and also about traffic accidents, victims and damages caused by natural disasters. Users of the publication will also find comparisons of Slovakia with the EU countries in selected parameters.
It is an exceptional source of information for work, creating analyses, articles and professional theses.
The electronic version of the yearbook will be fully available from the moment of publication, free of charge, in the Publications of the Catalogues on the Office´s portal. It contains active links to tables of the public DATAcube. database, in which information can be obtained in longer time series or in more detailed structures.
