Revision of annual and quarterly national accounts for the years 2017 - 2019, including preliminary data for 2020, adjusted the data on the performance of the Slovak economy

In accordance with the national revision policy, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic carried out this year´s first data revision in the system of national accounts, which affected both annual and quarterly data on Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and its components. The data for the years 2017 - 2019 were revised, and preliminary GDP estimates for 2020 were also adjusted. The revised data are published on the website of the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic and in the relevant databases from today, from 30 April 2021 from 9.00 a.m. in datacubes of the central DATAcube database in the chapter 2.1. - National accounts.

The impact of the revision was adjusted by real gross domestic product (GDP) on an annual basis in individual years from -0.1 percentage point (p.p.) to +0.4 p.p. of GDP. Revision adjustments of individual transactions and indicators took into account the new information and more accurate source data. At the same time, the data for individual quarters were adjusted (2017 - 2020), where the total change in real GDP due to this revision in individual quarters ranges from -0.2 p.p. to +1.2 p.p. of GDP.
