Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic is a central body of state administration of the Slovak Republic for the field of statistics. Its status is regulated by the Act No. 575/2001 Code of Acts on Organization of Activities of the Government and Central Government as amended. The Office meets the conditions of the Act No.540/2001 Code of Acts on State Statistics as amended and tasks specified by other generally binding regulations.

Apart from the Central office in Bratislava, the tasks of state statistics are also ensured by eight regional offices with their seats in Bratislava, Trnava, Nitra, Trenčín, Žilina, Banská Bystrica, Košice a Prešov.

The Office is managed by the President of the Office who is also responsible for its activities.

The Office is broken down into functional units, specialized sections and the above mentioned regional offices.

The recognition of the quality of work in the field of state statistics, the Statistical Office of the SR was awarded by Certificate of Quality according to the standard ISO 9001 in November 2006 and it was confirmed two times by recertification audit in 2009 and 2012.

The Office is the establisher of the subsidized organization INFOSTAT – Institute of Informatics and Statistics. INFOSTAT resolves research and development tasks of state statistics on the base of annually concluded contracts with the Statistical Office of the SR.
