In January 2019, the total export of goods reached the value of EUR 6 753,1 million with a 13,4 % year-on-year increase. The total import of goods rose by 11,1 % to EUR 6 578,1 million. The foreign trade balance was in surplus in the value of EUR 175 million (by EUR 139,9 million higher than in the corresponding period last year).
In January 2019, compared with the corresponding period last year, export to the EU Member States increased by 8 % and it represented 84,5 % of the total export. Import from the EU Member States represented 68,3 % of the total import and it grew by 23,3 %, year-on-year.
In January 2019, compared with the corresponding period last year, export to the non-EU countries increased by 55,7 % and it represented 15,5 % of the total export. Import from the non-EU countries represented 31,7 % of the total import and it decreased by 8,4 %, year-on-year.
In the foreign trade of the SR, the most traded SITC section was Machinery and transport equipment with a share of 61,2 % of the total export and 49,5 % of the total import.
In January, after
seasonal adjustment, the total export of goods reached the value of EUR 7 129,6 million with a year-on-year growth by 13,4 %. The total import of goods increased by 11,6 % to EUR 6 929,2 million. The foreign trade balance was in surplus in the amount of EUR 200,4 million (by EUR 121,2 million lower than in
January 2018).
