In January 2019, industrial production increased, year-on-year, by 7,2 %. The development according to the sections of SK NACE Rev. 2 was affected by growth in manufacturing by 7,9 %, in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 3,5 % and in mining and quarrying by 2,4 %.
In terms of the specific groupings of the industrial sectors, which contributed at most to the total production increase, the most significant growth was recorded in manufacture of transport equipment by 38,1 %, manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 22,7 %, electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 3,5 %, manufacture of food, beverages and tobacco products by 6,7 % and manufacture of electrical equipment by 5,5 %. The total production was affected mostly by decrease in manufacture of metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 7 %, manufacture of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products by 7,2 %, other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 9,9 %, manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 9,7 % and in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 15,3 %.
Compared with January 2018, in terms of the main industrial groupings, production of investment goods rose by 28,7 %, production related to energy by 2,4 % and production of nondurable consumer goods by 2 %. Production of durable consumer goods dropped by 11,5 % and production of intermediate goods by 6,3 %.
After seasonal adjustment, industrial production increased by 1,1 % in January 2019 compared with December 2018.
