Development in December 2018 compared with November 2018 1)
Turnover decreased, month-on-month, in all internal trade activities. It dropped in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 2,5 %, wholesale by 1,5 %, accommodation by 1,1 % and in retail trade by 0,7 %, food and beverage service activities by 0,6 %.
Development in December 2018 compared with December 2017
Turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles decreased, year-on-year, by 5,9 % after two-month growth, in December 2018. Turnover dropped in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 6,1 % and in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 3 %. Turnover in sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories rose by 1,7 %.
Compared with December 2017, turnover in wholesale grew by 2,6 %, in total. The development was affected by higher turnover mostly in wholesale on a fee or contract basis by 11,8 %, non-specialized wholesale by 8,1 % and in wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco by 5,1 %. Turnover dropped most significantly in wholesale of household goods by 4 %.
Turnover in retail trade increased, year-on-year, by 0,6 %. The most significant growth was registered in retail trade not in stores, stalls and markets by 11,6 %, retail trade of other goods in specialized stores by 4 % and retail trade of automotive fuels in specialized stores by 4,3 %. Lower turnover was recorded mostly in retail trade of other goods for households in specialized stores by 9,3 %.
Turnover in accommodation increased by 1,1 % in comparison with December 2017.
Turnover in food and beverage service activities was higher by 1,2 %.
Development in 2018 compared with 2017
In 2018, turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased by 4,7 % affected by turnover increase in sale of motor vehicles by 5,5 %, sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories by 12,8 % and in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 0,8 %.
Turnover in wholesale increased by 7,8 %. The development was affected by increase in all of its activities, the most significantly in other specialized wholesale by 12,7 %, wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco by 9,5 % and in non-specialized wholesale by 7 %.
Turnover in retail trade increased, year-on-year, by 3,6 %. This growth was affected by higher turnover mainly in retail trade of other goods in specialized stores by 13,1 %, retail trade not in stores, stalls or markets by 15 % and in retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores by 9,8 %. Turnover dropped in retail trade in non-specialized stores by 3,7 % and in retail trade of ICT equipment by 16,1 %.
Turnover in accommodation increased by 9,9 %.
Turnover in food and beverage service activities rose by 6,1 %.
