In December 2018, the total export of goods reached the value of EUR 5 840,2 million with a 5,9 % year-on-year increase. The total import of goods rose by 7,4 % to EUR 5 969,5 million. The foreign trade balance was in deficit in the value of EUR 129,3 million (by EUR 85,1 million higher than in the corresponding period last year).
In January-December 2018, compared with the corresponding period last year, the total export of goods increased by 6,9 % to EUR 79 897,7 million and the total import by 8 % to EUR 77 445,6 million. The foreign trade balance was in surplus in the amount of EUR 2 452,1 million (by EUR 599,1 million lower than in the corresponding period last year).
In January-December 2018, compared with the corresponding period last year, export to the EU Member States increased by 6,6 % and it represented 85,2 % of the total export. Import from the EU Member States represented 67,8 % of the total import and it grew by 9,8 %, year-on-year.
In January-December 2018 compared with the corresponding period last year, export to the non-EU countries increased by 8,3 % and it represented 14,8 % of the total export. Import from the non-EU countries represented 32,2 % of the total import and it increased by 4,3 %, year-on-year.
In the foreign trade of the SR, the most traded SITC section was Machinery and transport equipment with a share of 60,5 % of the total export and 48,7 % of the total import.
In December 2018, after
seasonal adjustment, the total export of goods reached the value of EUR 7 047,1 million with a year-on-year growth by 9,3 %. The total import of goods increased by 11 % to EUR 6 798 million. The foreign trade balance was in surplus in the amount of EUR 249 million (by EUR 75,9 million lower than in
December 2017).
