Turnover increased, month-on-month, in food and beverage service activities by 1,1 % and in wholesale by 0,8 %. It dropped in accommodation by 12,7 %, retail trade by 1,8 %, sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles by 0,6 %.
Development in February 2019 compared with February 2018
Turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased, year-on-year, by 9,5 % affected by higher turnover in sale of motor vehicles by 11,2 % %, in sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories by 21,8 % and in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 1,1 %.
Compared with February 2018, turnover in wholesale rose by 8 %, in total. The increase was in most activities, of which most considerably in wholesale of household goods by 11,4 %, wholesale of machinery, equipment and supplies by 22,3 %, other specialized wholesale by 4,1 %, wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco by 6,9 % and in wholesale on a fee or contract basis by 9,9 %. It decreased only in wholesale of ICT equipment by 2 %.
Turnover in retail trade did not change, year-on-year. The development was affected by higher turnover in retail sale not in stores, stalls and markets by 9,4 %, retail sale of automotive fuels in specialized stores by 5,5 % and in retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco by 17,3 %. Lower turnover were recorded mostly in retail sale in non-specialized stores by 2,7 % and in retail sale of other goods in specialized stores by 4,4 %.
Turnover in accommodation increased by 9 % in comparison with the corresponding period last year.
Turnover in food and beverage service activities was higher by 9,1 %.
Development over the first two months of 2019 compared with the corresponding period of 2018
Turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased by 7,2 % as a result of the growth in sale of motor vehicles by 7,7 % and in sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories by 25,6 %. It dropped in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 2,7 %.
Total turnover in wholesale increased by 7,6 % as a result of the turnover growth mainly in wholesale of household goods by 14 %, non-specialized wholesale by 13,1 % and in wholesale on a fee or contract basis by 12,7 %. Lower turnover was recorded only in retail trade of ICT equipment by 5,2 %.
Turnover in retail trade increased by 2,3 %. The increase resulted from the turnover growth registered mainly in retail sale not in stores, stalls or markets by 14 %, retail sale in non-specialized stores by 2,3 %, retail sale of automotive fuel in specialized stores by 6,7 %. Turnover decreased mostly in retail sale of other goods in specialized stores by 5,2 %.
Turnover in accommodation increased by 0,4 %.
Turnover in food and beverage service activities rose by 7,5 %.
