In February, construction production increased, year-on-year, by 1,7 % and amounted to EUR 320,4 million after a slight decrease in previous month. After seasonal adjustment, it was higher by 0,3 % compared with January 2019.
In February 2019 compared with February 2018, output realized by domestic construction companies grew by 2,1 % and amounted to EUR 301,6 million. Its share on the total construction output increased, year-on-year, by 0,4 p.p. to 94,1 %. Within domestic output, the volume of works in new construction, renewals and enhancements decreased the second month in a row, it dropped by 1,3 %, compared with February 2018. Repairs and maintenance works increased by 9,8 %. In the structure of the domestic output, the share of new construction, renewals and enhancements represented 70,8 % (by 2,3 p.p. less than in February 2018). The share of repairs and maintenance works represented 27,2 %. In terms of output specification, the volume of works on construction of buildings increased by 4,7 %, works on civil engineering works decreased by 4,5 %. Within domestic output, construction of buildings represented 73,5 % and civil engineering works accounted for 26,5 %.
Non-domestic construction output carried out by construction companies decreased, year-on-year, by 5,3 % after a five months growth. Its share represented 5,9 % of the total output volume.
On average, over the first two months of 2019 compared with the corresponding period of 2018, construction output rose by 0,5 % and reached the volume of EUR 602,6 million. Domestic output increased by 0,6 % to EUR 565,9 million. The volume of works in repairs and maintenance increased by 4,4 % and amounted to EUR 158,4 million. Works on new construction, renewals and enhancements dropped by 1,7 % to EUR 396,4 million. In the structure of the domestic output, the share of new construction, renewals and enhancements decreased by 1,5 p.p. to 70 %, the share of repairs and maintenance works represented 28 %. Non-domestic output decreased by 0,7 %.
