Orders in industry began increasing

In April 2024, the value of new orders in industry¹⁾ increased by 5.7% year-on-year and reached a volume of EUR 5.83 billion. After seasonal adjustment, new orders increased by 13% month-on-month²⁾.

The higher volumes of April´s orders in 8 of the 12 monthly monitored industrial sectors was reflected in the first year-on-year increase in new orders in industry as a whole.

In April 2024, orders increased most significantly year-on-year in manufacture of basic metals, except machinery and equipment, in manufacture of electrical equipment and in manufacture of textiles. Orders decreased significantly year-on-year, especially in manufacture of apparel, manufacture and processing of metals, and in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products.
