In the fourth quarter of 2018 the Gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices ¹⁾ increased by 3,6 % as compared to the same quarter of 2017. After seasonal adjustment GDP rose by 4 % as compared to the fourth quarter of 2017 and by 0,8 % in comparison with the previous quarter. ²⁾

The volume of GDP at current prices in the fourth quarter of 2018 reached EUR 23 338,4 million what represented the increase by 5,3 % in comparison with the same quarter of 2017.

Total employment in the reference period reached 2 438,4 thousand persons. In comparison with the fourth quarter of 2017 it increased by 1,7 %. Seasonally adjusted total employment rose by 1,8 % as compared to the fourth quarter of 2017 and by 0,4 % as compared to the third quarter of 2018.

Flash estimate of Gross domestic product and Total employment will be updated and supplemented with other structures of the indicators on the basis of subsequent available statistical and administrative data. The data will be published in the Statistical report on basic development tendencies in economy of the Slovak Republic in the fourth quarter of 2018.
