In December 2018 compared with December 2017, construction production amounted to EUR 540,3 million, it rose by 7,9 % compared with December 2017. After seasonal adjustment, it was lower by 1,4 % compared with November 2018.

In December 2018 compared with December 2017, output realized by domestic construction companies rose by 7,5 % and amounted to EUR 515 million. Its share on the total construction output decreased, year-on-year, by 0,3 p.p. to 95,3 %. The domestic output development was affected by the increase of works in new construction, renewals and enhancements by 10,1 % and in repairs and maintenance works by 3,6 %. In the structure of the domestic output, the share of new construction, renewals and enhancements represented 68 % (by 1,7 p.p. more than in December 2017), the share of repairs and maintenance works represented 30,2 %. In terms of output specification, the volume of works on construction of buildings increased by 10,7 % and civil engineering works increased by 0,1 %. Within domestic output, construction of buildings was represented by 72,2 % and civil engineering works accounted for 27,8 %.

In December 2018, non-domestic construction output carried out by construction companies increased, year-on-year, by 14,9 %.  Its share represented 4,7 % of the total output volume.

On average, over the year 2018 compared with the corresponding period of 2017, construction output rose by 8,4 % and reached the volume of EUR 5 805,2 million. Domestic output increased by 8 % to EUR 5 526,5 million. The volume of works in new construction, renewals and enhancements was up by 10,4 % to EUR 3 997,2 million. Repairs and maintenance works increased by 1,2 % and amounted to EUR 1 426,4 million. In the structure of the domestic output, the share of new construction, renewals and enhancements increased by 1,6 p.p. to 72,3 %, the share of repairs and maintenance works represented 25,8 %. Non-domestic output increased by 17 %.
