Development in February 2019 in comparison with January 2019 1)
Turnover increased, month-on-month, in construction by 2,5 % and in selected market services by 0,6 %. It decreased in information and communication by 3,1 %, transportation and storage by 2,1 % and in industry by 2 %.
Development in February 2019 compared with February 2018
Turnover in industry increased by 11,4 %. The development by the SK NACE sections was affected by increase in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 20,8 %; in manufacturing by 13,3 %, mining and quarrying by 11,4 %; and by decrease in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 2,2 %. In terms of particular groupings of industrial sectors, which contributed at most to the total turnover increase, the most significant growth was recorded in manufacture of transport equipment by 22,9 %, manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 10,3 %, manufacture of wood and paper products, printing by 20 %, other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 18,5 % and in manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 7,1 %. Turnover decreased in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 2,2 %, manufacture of chemical and chemical products by 3,1 %, manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 1,2 % and in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations by 4,9 %.
Turnover in construction increased by 8,1 %.
Turnover in transportation and storage 2) increased by 6,4 %. The development was affected by higher turnover in all activities, mostly in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 13,4 % and in postal and courier activities by 13,2 %.
Turnover in information and communication 3) increased, year-on-year, by 7 % affected mostly by higher turnover in computer programming by 12,1 %, telecommunications by 4,3 % and in publishing activities by 14,3 %. Turnover dropped only in motion picture, video and television programme production.
In selected market services 4), total turnover increased by 8,4 %. The development was affected mostly by higher turnover in administrative, office support and other business support activities by 18,1 %, gambling and betting activities by 7,5 % and in travel agencies and tour operator activities by 32,3 %. Turnover dropped only in real estate activities by 2,4 %.
Development over the first two months of 2019 in comparison with the same period in 2018
Total turnover in industry increased by 13,4 %. The development by the sections of SK NACE Rev. 2 was affected by increase in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 21,6 %; manufacturing by 16,5 %; mining and quarrying by 11,1 % and by drop in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 4,4 %. In terms of particular groupings of industrial sectors, turnover increased most considerably in manufacture of transport equipment by 35,2 %, manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 11,2 %, manufacture of wood and paper products, printing by 17,9 %, other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 17,5 % and in manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 7,3 %. Turnover decreased, year-on-year, in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products and in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply equally by 4,4 %, manufacture of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products by 1,6 % and in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 4,2 %.
Turnover in construction enterprises increased by 5,6 %.
Turnover in transportation and storage rose, year-on-year, by 7,8 % affected by higher turnover in all activities. It increased most considerably in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 15,6 %, postal and courier activities by 12,9 % and in land transport and transport via pipelines by 1,4 %.
Total turnover in information and communication increased by 7,8 %. It rose most significantly in telecommunication by 14,8 %, computer programming by 3,6 % and in information service activities by 8,8 %. Lower turnover was registered in motion picture, video and television programme production.
In selected market services4), total turnover increased by 7,2 %. Increase was affected by higher turnover in administrative, office support and other business support activities by 19,4 %, gambling and betting activities by 6,8 % and legal and accounting activities by 8,8 %. It dropped in architectural and engineering activities and in real estate activities.
