The decline in new orders in industry continued for the fourth consecutive month
The August´s value of new orders in industry1) dropped again by 3.6% year-on-year and reached a volume of EUR 5.28 billion. However, seasonally adjusted, new orders in industry increased by 6.1% in August 2024 compared to July 2024.2)
A decrease in order volumes in the second half of the holiday season was recorded in 7 of the 12 monthly monitored industrial sectors. The largest year-on-year declines were in manufacture of other transport equipment, manufacture of apparel and manufacture of metal structures, except for machinery and equipment. On the contrary, year-on-year growth in orders was in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products and manufacture of electrical equipment.
