Industrial production index (IPI) increased by 3,4 % in January 2013 compared with January 2012, due to an increase in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 6,1 %, in manufacturing by 2,9 %, in mining and quarrying by 0,3 %.
The increase of the total industrial production was affected most considerably by a growth in manufacture of transport equipment by 15,2 %, manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 6,3 %, manufacture of wood, paper products and printing by 3,8 %, manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 3 % and in manufacture of textiles, apparel, leather and related products by 3,6 %. The volume of production decreased mostly in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 20,9 % and other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 12,1 %.
In terms of the main industrial groupings, production of investment goods increased by 10,6 %, production related to energy by 4,3 %, production of intermediate goods by 3,1 %. Production of durable consumer goods decreased by 31 % and production of non-durable consumer goods by 2,2 %.
After seasonality adjustment, industrial production increased by 1,9 % in January 2013 compared with December 2012.
