Development in March 2019 compared with February 2019 1)

Turnover increased, month-on-month, in accommodation by 6,7 %,  food and beverage service activities by 1,7 %, in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 1 %. It dropped in wholesale by 3,1 % and in retail trade by 0,3 %.

Turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased, year-on-year, by 12,9 % affected by higher turnover in sale of motor vehicles by 14,9 % %, in sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories by 11,6 % and in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 12,7 %.

Compared with March 2018, turnover in wholesale rose by 2 %, in total. The increase was in most activities, of which most considerably in other specialized wholesale by 5,6 %, wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco by 6,1 % and in wholesale of ICT equipment by 19,9 %. It decreased only in wholesale on a fee or contract basis by 16 % and in non-specialized wholesale by 4,5 %.

Turnover in retail trade decreased, year-on-year, by 1,9 %. The development was affected by lower turnover in retail sale in non-specialized stores by 7,5 %, retail sale of other goods in specialized stores by 3,1 % and in retail sale of ICT equipment in specialized stores by 10 %. Higher turnover was recorded, year-on-year, mostly in retail sale of automotive fuels in specialized stores by 6,5 %.

Turnover in accommodation increased by 3,9 % in comparison with the corresponding period last year.

Turnover in food and beverage service activities was higher by 11,4 %.

Turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased by 9,1 % as a result of the growth in sale of motor vehicles by 10,1 % and in sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories by 20,1 % and in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 2,3 %.

Total turnover in wholesale increased by 5,5 % as a result of the turnover growth in all activities, mainly in wholesale of household goods by 9,9 %, non-specialized wholesale by 6,4 % and in other specialized wholesale by 2,8 %.

Turnover in retail trade increased by 0,8 %. The increase resulted from the turnover growth registered mainly in retail sale not in stores, stalls or markets by 10,1 %, retail sale of automotive fuels in specialized stores by 6,7 % and in retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco in specialized stores by 15,9 %. Turnover decreased in wholesale of other goods in specialized stores by 4,4 %.

Turnover in accommodation increased by 1,6 %.

Turnover in food and beverage service activities rose by 8,9 %.
