Industrial production (PP) fell by 4.9 % year on year in September. Development by SK NACE Rev. 2 was affected by a decrease in manufacturing by 7.1 % and in mining and quarrying by 10.8 % and an increase in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 13 %.

As for the industries that contributed the most to the overall decrease in production, the most significant decrease was recorded in manufacture of transport equipment (by 31.3 %), manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (by 8.8 %), manufacture of electrical equipment (by 4.6 %), other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment (by 6.7 %) and manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (by 8.8 %). The total production was affected by a rise in the manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (by 18 %), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 13 %), manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (except 14.2 %), manufacture of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic minerals products (by 5.1 %) and in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (by 21.5 %).

According to the main industrial groupings, production of capital goods decreased by 16.9 %, production of durable goods by 9.6 % and production of non-durable goods by 0.3 % compared to September 2020. Production related to energy was higher by 8.8 % and production for intermediate consumption by 3.8 %.

After seasonal adjustment, industrial production decreased by 1.7 % in September 2021, compared to August 2021.

Since the beginning of the year, IP increased by 12.9 % year-on-year, of which in manufacturing by 13.1 %, in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 13.3 % and in mining and quarrying by 0.3 % .

As for the industries that contributed the most to the overall growth of production, the most significant increase was in the manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (by 25 %), manufacture of transport equipment (by 10.4 %), manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (by 25.8 %), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 13.3 %) and in manufacture of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products (by 12.7 %). Production decreased in manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (by 7 %), manufacture of textiles, clothing, leather and leather products (by 1.4 %) and manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (by 2.5 %).

According to the main industrial groupings, production of durable goods increased by 16.8 %, production for intermediate consumption by 15.8 %, production of capital goods by 13.4 %, production related to energy by 9.6 % and production of non-durable goods by 3.5 %.
