In June, the confidence indicator in services increased after a two-month sharp decline, its value (-38) increased by 14,3 percentage points (p.p.) compared with May. The indicator´s development was affected by positive evaluations of the demand and over the last three months, as well as the expected demand, while the business situation was evaluated negatively by respondents.

Compared with the last month´s survey, the business situation over the past three months deteriorated, the business balance (of seasonally adjusted data) decreased by 7 points and reached the level -74. A deterioration of the business situation is felt by 88 % enterprises (by 5 p.p. more than in the survey conducted in May), an improvement was indicated by only 2 % of enterprises (by 1 p.p. more) and 10 % of enterprises (by 6 % less) had a stable development. An unfavourable situation persisted mainly in arts, entertainment and recreation, however, a downward trend was reflected also in the field of information and communication, financial and insurance activities; an improvement was reported in professional, scientific and technical activities, slightly also in transportation and storage, accommodation and food service activities and in the field of real estates. Compared with the last month´s survey, the demand for the services over the past three months (-47) increased by 11 points. An increase of the demand was felt almost in all sectors, the most in financial and insurance services and in the field of real estates, except professional, scientific and technical activities, where a rather decreased interest was recorded. The expected development of the demand for services over the next three months was evaluated very positively by respondents, the seasonally adjusted business balance (7) increased by 39 points. A higher demand is expected almost in all groups, the greatest optimism was expressed by respondents in administrative and support services, in information and communication, real estates, financial and insurance services as well as in transportation and storage. Smaller, but still favourable expectations were also in accommodation and food service activities and in arts, entertainment and recreation. 2 % of enterprises increased the number of their employees over the past three months (by 1 p.p. less than in May), 42 % of enterprises (by 7 p.p. less) reported a decrease and 56% of enterprises had a stable development (by 8 p.p. more). The final seasonally adjusted balance (-41) increased by 3 p.p. compared with the previous month, indicating a slight improvement of the employment situation. A higher number of employees was recorded  the most in the group of professional, scientific and technical activities, on the contrary, a lower number of employees were registered in administrative and support service activities, in arts, entertainment and recreation, as well as in the field of information and communication. A continuing improvement is still assumed in the development of the employment over the next three months, the business balance (-22) increased by 7 points, compared with the previous month. A higher number of employees is assumed almost in all groups except transportation and storage and real estate activities. Compared with the previous period, the business balance of the expected prices of services over the next three months (8) decreased by 21 points while a decrease of prices is considered by 5 % of enterprises, similarly as in May, 10 % of enterprises assume a price increase (by 22 p.p. less), 85 % of enterprises (by 22 p.p. more)  expect a stable development.

Note: * In June 380 respondents were participated in survey which represents the whole service sector. The values of the confidence indicator in services and the balances range from -100 (responses of all respondents are pessimistic) to 100 (responses of all respondents are optimistic). Data are seasonally adjusted.
