In December compared with November, consumer prices increased by 0,2 % in total and compared with December 2020 they rose by 5,8 %

On average, in 2021 compared with the corresponding period in 2020, consumer prices rose by 3,2 %, in total.

In year-on-year comparison, on average in 2021 the prices in transport increased by 8,9 % (fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment by 17,3 %, other purchased transport services by 8,1 %, road passenger transport by 4,1 % , maintenance and repair by 3,5 %, purchase of transport equipment by 3,4 %, spare parts and accessories by 1,9 %), alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 6,9 % (tobacco prices increased by 13,7 %, spirits by 1,9 %, wine by 0,6 %, beer prices decreased by 0,5 %), for communications by 6,6 % prices of telephone services increased by 7,4 % and prices of telephone equipment decreased by 1,4 %, for restaurants and hotels by 6,3 % (especially increase in prices in canteens by 12,6 %, in restaurants and cafes by 4,6 %, accommodation services by 1,5 %).

Prices also increased in education by 4,1 % (pre-primary and primary education by 9,1 %, education non-definable by level by 4,4 %, secondary education by 3,5 %, tertiary education by 1 %), recreation and culture by 3,4 % (prices of newspapers, books and stationery were higher by 6,1 %, recreational services and culture by 2,6 %, package holiday tours by 2,5 %, audiovisual and photographic equipment by 2,4 %, other recreational items and equipment for garden and pets by 1,7 %, other major durables for recreation and culture by 0,8 %), furnishing, household maintenance and routine household maintenance by 2,7 % (furnishing, household equipment, carpets and other floor coverings by 5,1 %, tools and equipment for the house and garden by 2,2 %, household textiles, household appliances, goods and services for routine household maintenance equally 1,7 %, glassware, tableware and household utensils by 1,3 %), miscellaneous goods and services by 2,6 % (personal effects n.e.c. by 3,3 %, social protection by 3,1 %, personal care by 3 %, other services n.e.c. by 1,4 %, insurance by 1,1 %, financial services n.e.c. by 0,9 %.

Lower price growth influenced health care by 2 % (other health care products by 5,6 %, dental services by 4,9 %, secondary health care services - spa treatment by 3,9 %, therapeutic aids and equipment by 3,8 % , medical services by 1,3 %, pharmaceutical products by 1,2 %, hospital services by 1,1 %), food and non-alcoholic beverages by 1,8 % with a rise in food prices by 1,9 % (price increase of oils and fats by 7 %, vegetables (including potatoes) by 3,9 %, food products n.e.c. by 3,5 %, fish by 3,4 %, bread and cereals by 2,7 %, milk, cheese and eggs by 1,8 %, meat by 0,5 %, sugar, jam, honey, syrups, chocolate and confectionery by 0,3 %, fruit prices decreased by 0,6 %), and non-alcoholic beverages by 1,2 % (mineral waters, soft drinks and juices by 1,3 %, coffee, tea and cocoa by 1,2 %).

Finally, prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels increased by 1,3 % (services for maintenance and repair of the dwellings by 7,6 %, garbage collection by 6,4 %, imputed rent of owner-occupiers by 6,2 % , materials for maintenance and repair of the dwellings by 4,4 %, drainage of waste water by 3,1 %, solid fuels by 2,7 %, other services related to the dwellings by 2 %, water supply by 1,9 %, actual rent of residents owners by 0,9 %, prices of gas decreased by 9,6 %, electricity by 4,3 %, thermal energy by 0,8 %), clothing and footwear by 1,1 % (clothing and footwear equally by 1,1 % ).

Prices increased month-on-month, in the division of food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0,8 %; recreation and culture by 0,6 %; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels; healthcare; restaurants and hotels by 0,2 %. Prices in transport decreased by 0,8 %; of alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 0,3 %; clothing and footwear by 0,1 %. Prices for furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance did not change; for communications; in education; miscellaneous goods and services.

The rise in food prices by 1 % was influenced by higher prices of bread and cereals by 3 %, vegetables (including potatoes) by 2,6 %, milk, cheese and eggs by 0,9 %, fish by 0,6 %, meat, oils and fats by 0,5 %, fruit, food products n.e.c equally by 0,1%, prices of sugar, jam, honey, syrups, chocolate and confectionery decreased by 2 %. Prices of non-alcoholic beverages decreased by 1,6 % (mineral waters, soft drinks and juices by 1,7 %, coffee, tea and cocoa by 1,5 %).

Higher prices in recreation and culture were influenced by an increase in prices of newspapers, books and stationery by 1,7 %; other major durables for recreation and culture by 0,3 %; package holiday tours by 0,2 %; recreational services and culture by 0,1 %. The prices of audiovisual and photographic equipment; other recreational items and equipment for garden and pets have not changed.

The increase in prices in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels caused an increase in prices of solid fuels by 1,1 %; materials for maintenance and repair of the dwellings by 0,5 %; services for maintenance and repair of the dwellings by 0,4 %; imputed rent of owner-occupiers by 0,3 %. Prices of other services related to dwellings decreased by 0,2 %.

A price increase in health care was influenced by higher prices of other health care products by 0,5 %, medical services by 0,3 %, pharmaceutical products by 0,2 %, services of middle medical staff - spa treatment by 0,1 % .

The increase in prices in restaurants and hotels was caused by higher prices of catering services by 0,2 % (payments for meals in canteens for pensioners by 0,5 %, in restaurants and cafés by 0,3 %, in canteens by 0,2 %); prices of accommodation services decreased by 0,2 %.

The decrease in transport prices was influenced by lower prices of personal transport by 1,4 % (decrease in prices of fuels and lubricants for personal transport by 1,8 %, increase in prices of other services related to personal transport equipment by 0,2 %, spare parts and accessories, maintenance and repairs by 0,1 %); transport services by 0,4 %. Purchase prices of means of transport increased by 0,3 % (bikes by 0,5 %, motor vehicles by 0,3 %).

The decrease in prices in alcoholic beverages and tobacco was caused by lower prices of alcoholic beverages by 0,7 % (wines by 1,6 %, beers by 0,4 %, spirits by 0,3 %).

Lower prices in clothing and footwear were influenced by a decrease in footwear prices by 0,3 %; prices of clothing have not changed.

In the division of furnishing, household equipment and routine household maintenance, prices of glassware, tableware and household utensils increased by 0,5 %; of furnishing, household equipment, carpets and other floor coverings by 0,4 %; tools and equipment for the house and garden by 0,2 %. Household textiles prices have dropped; goods and services for routine household maintenance by 0,5 %; the prices of household appliances did not change.

In communications, prices of telephone equipment increased by 0,7 %.

In miscellaneous goods and services, prices of personal accessories n.e.c increased by 0,2 %. Social protection prices decreased by 0,1 % (payment in day nursery by 0,1 %).

In December compared to November, the consumer price index increased in households of employees, in low-income households equally by 0,2 %, in households of pensioners by 0,3 %.

Development of prices in December 2021 compared to December 2020

In a year-on-year comparison, prices in the division of restaurants and hotels increased by 13,2 %; transport by 13 %; alcoholic beverages and tobacco by 7,8 %; communications by 6,4 %; food and non-alcoholic beverages by 5,8 %; recreation and culture by 5,6 %; education by 5,3 %; furniture, furnishings and routine household maintenance by 5,1 %; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 4,2 %; miscellaneous goods and services by 3,3 %; clothing and footwear by 2 %; healthcare by 1,2 %.

Price increase in the division of restaurants and hotels was influenced by higher prices of catering services by 14 % (in canteens by 33,4 %, in restaurants, in cafés by 6,6 %).

In transport, prices of fuels and lubricants for personal transport equipment increased by 25,2 %, spare parts and accessories by 4,6 %, maintenance and repairs by 3 %, purchase of bikes by 8,8 %, purchase of motor vehicles by 4,8 % , other services related to personal transport equipment by 4,7 %, road passenger transport by 2,9 %.

In the division of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, prices of alcoholic beverages increased by 0,9 % (prices of spirits increased by 3,1 %, wines by 0,6 %, beer prices decreased by 1,1 %).

In communications, prices of telephone equipment increased by 1,1 %.

In the division of food, prices of oils and fats increased by 18,5 %, vegetables by 11,8 %, bread and cereals by 8,3 %, fish by 7,8 %, milk, cheese and eggs by 6,5 %, food products n.e.c. by 6 %, fruit by 3,8 %, meat by 3,3 %. Prices of coffee, tea and cocoa increased by 0,8 %, mineral waters, soft drinks and juices by 0,5 %.

In the division of recreation and culture, prices of newspapers, books and stationery rose by 8,4 %, other recreational items, gardens and pets by 4,9 %, audiovisual and photographic technology by 4,5 %, recreational and cultural services by 3,8 %, package holidays by 3,5 %.

In the division of furniture, furnishings and routine household maintenance, prices of furniture, furnishings, carpets and other floor coverings increased by 9,4 %, glassware, tableware and household utensils by 4,3 %, household textiles by 3,5 %, household appliances by 3,2 %, goods and services for routine household maintenance by 3,1 %, tools and equipment for the house and garden by 3 %.

In the division of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, prices of imputed rentals of owner-occupiers increased by 12,5 %, maintenance and repair of dwellings by 10,9 %, solid fuels by 7 %, other services related to dwellings by 4,1 %.

In miscellaneous goods and services, prices of personal care, personal effects n.e.c. rose identically by 4,1 %, social protection by 3,4 %.

In the division of clothing and footwear, prices of clothing increased by 2,5 % and footwear by 0,7 %.

In health care, prices of services of other medical products increased by 6,7 %, services of secondary medical staff - spa treatment by 6,5 %, dental services by 3,7 %, therapeutic appliances and equipment by 2,4 %, medical services by 1,6 %, pharmaceutical products by 0,5 %.

In December 2021, the consumer price index increased, year-on-year, in households of employees by 5,9 %, households of pensioners by 5,8 %, and in low-income households by 5,6 %.

In 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, the consumer price index increased, on average, in households of employees by 3,2 %,  low-income households by 3 %, households of pensioners by 2,9 %.
