In July 2021, construction output reached EUR 464,4 million and decreased by 3,9 % compared to July 2020. Compared to the pre-pandemic period (July 2019), it dropped by 16,7 %. After seasonal adjustments, construction output was lower by 1,1 % than in June 2021.

Compared with July 2020, the output carried out by domestic companies decreased by 7,4 % and reached EUR 420,3 million.  Its share in the total construction output represented 90,5 %. (compared to 2019, it dropped by 19,4 %). The development of domestic production was influenced by the year-on-year decrease in new construction, including renewals and enhancements, by 9,9 % to EUR 287,2 million and also a decrease in repairs and maintenance by 3,6 % to EUR 111,5 million. (compared to 2019, new construction was lower by 21,3 %, repairs and maintenance by 19,8 %). In the structure of domestic production, new construction accounted for 68,3 %, the share of repair and maintenance work represented 26,5 %. In terms of output specification, compared to July 2020, construction on buildings decreased by 4,2 % to EUR 295,0 million and works on civil engineering dropped by 14,2 % to EUR 125,3 million (compared to 2019, construction on buildings decreased by 12,9 %, on civil engineering by 31,3 %).

Construction work carried out abroad increased year-on-year by 51,2 % to EUR 44,1 million; it represented 9,5 % of the total volume of the output. (compared with 2019, it rose by 21,5 %).

On average, in the seven months of 2021, construction output reached the volume of EUR 2 682,1 million compared to the corresponding period of 2020, it decreased by 4,2 %. Domestic output decreased by 6,7 % year-on-year to EUR 2 425,5 million. In the structure of domestic output, new construction, including renewals and enhancements, accounted for 67,8 %, and the realized volume of work (EUR 1 644,8 million) decreased by 10,4 %. Repair and maintenance works increased by 0,7 %, in the amount of EUR 674,9 million compared to the previous year and their share was 27,8 %. Production abroad was higher by 28,3 %.
