New orders in industry continued increasing

The value of new orders in industry¹⁾ in October 2024 increased by 3.3% year-on-year and reached a volume of EUR 6.2 billion.  However, it was only the third year-on-year increase this year. Seasonally adjusted, new orders in industry increased by 3.2% in October 2024 compared to September 2024²⁾. 

The year-on-year increase was evident in only 3 of the 12 monthly monitored industrial sectors. Orders increased only in manufacture of textiles, manufacture of motor vehicles, semi-trailers and trailers, or in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products.

On the contrary, orders decreased the most year-on-year in manufacture of apparel, manufacture of metals structures and in manufacture of other transport equipment.
