Turnover in selected sectors of economy in February 2025

Sectors were prosperous in February, all of them recorded a turnover growth

Turnover in February 2025 was higher year-on-year in all 5 sectors monitored monthly, and the growth rate even accelerated in four of them. The key industry recorded a significant turnover growth exceeding 6%. Construction also continued to prosper, with turnover growing in double digits.

In the key sector of the economy, industry1), enterprises´ turnover in February 2025 increased by 6.7% year-on-year (at constant prices). Among the 16 monitored industrial sectors, 12 recorded a year-on-year growth. The most significant impact was the double-digit turnover growth in  manufacture of transport equipment by 11% and in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 42 %.

Turnover in selected market services increased by 5%. Turnover in transportation and storage enterprises was higher by 2.7%, in information and communication by 1.3%. Turnover in construction enterprises achieved significant growth, increasing by 17.7%. They recorded a growth for the third consecutive month.

 
 
 
 

Turnover in month-on-month comparison (after seasonal adjustment) increased in 4 out of 5 sectors. The most significant growth was achieved in industry, by 6.7%, and construction, by 1.9%. Turnover in selected market services increased by 1.2% and in information and communication activities by 0.7%. They decreased only in transport and storage enterprises, by 0.7%.

Development in the first two months of 2025

In total, in the first two months of 2025, turnover increased year-on-year in all five sectors. In terms of turnover volume, it increased in industry by 3.7%, in selected market services by 4.4%, in transportation and storage by 5.1%, in information and communication activities by 0.7% and in construction by 13.8%.

Since 2022, selected market services include business entities that are classified into the divisions 68 to 82 according to the main economic activity of SK NACE. Due to decreasing the burden of the business environment, data are not available on turnover for subjects classified into SK NACE divisions 85 to 96. Turnover therefore do not include information for education (SK NACE division 85), arts, entertainment and recreation, including gaming and betting activities (SK NACE divisions 90 - 93). Also, turnover of enterprises for other activities (SK NACE 95 and 96) to which they belonged among others laundry and dry cleaning, hairdressing and beauty treatment, funeral services, well - being services and other services of predominantly personal nature.
