New orders in industry moderated its pace of decline

In July 2024, the value of new orders in industry¹⁾ decreased by 1.5% year-on-year and reached a volume of EUR 4.44 billion. Seasonally adjusted, new orders in industry decreased by 2.8% in July 2024 compared to June 2024.²⁾

A decrease in order volumes in the first holiday month was recorded in 7 of the 12 monthly monitored industrial sectors. They decreased the most year-on-year in manufacture of other transport equipment, manufacture of apparel and manufacture of paper and paper products. Orders increased year-on-year in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products, manufacture of basic metals, and manufacture of chemicals and chemical products.
