In 2024, there were 46 241 live births in the Slovak Republic, which was 2 386 less than in 2023, and 53 876 deaths, 257 less than in the previous year.

The natural decrease of the population represented 7 635 persons, compared to the year 2023 it deepened by 2 129 persons.

The net foreign migration reached 2 399 persons in 2024 (there were 6 824 immigrants and 4 425 emigrants).

The total decrease of population of the Slovak Republic at the end of 2024 was 5 236 inhabitants, compared to 2023 it deepened by 1 131.
