Prices of industrial producers continued to rise in September mostly due to increased prices of electricity and gas supply

Prices of industrial producers for the domestic market increased by more than 60 percent year-on-year in September, mainly as a result of more than doubling of energy supply prices. A price increase in crop products and construction works and materials slowed down.

Prices of industrial producers for the domestic market rose by 61.8% year-on-year in September 2022. The overall development in industry was mainly influenced by extraordinary price increases in electricity and gas supply by 136.3%, manufacture of petroleum products by 74.3% and manufacture of food by 30.5%.

The three most important sectors recorded the following increase in prices – manufacture of transport equipment by 6.1%, manufacture of metals and metal structures by 9.7% and manufacture of rubber and plastic products by 16.3%.

Prices of industrial producers for the domestic market rose by 8.8% month-on-month. Overall, since the beginning of the year, prices in this sector rose by 43.3% year-on-year.

Prices of industrial producers for the non-domestic market increased by 19.9% year-on-year. Energy prices were higher, especially prices of electricity and gas supply by 159.5% and water supply of water management by 59.2%.

In a month-on-month comparison, prices of industrial producers for the non-domestic market increased by 0.3%. For the first nine months of 2022, prices of industrial producer for the non-domestic market were by 22% higher than a year ago.

Prices of agricultural products

In September, prices of agricultural products rose by 41.2% year-on-year. Prices of crop products increased by 47%, year-on-year, and prices of animal products grew by 25.8%. From crop products, prices of cereals increased by 64.4% and prices of oleaginous fruits and seeds by 41.5%. From animal products, prices of raw cow milk rose by 36.2%.

On average, since the beginning of the year, prices of agricultural products rose by 36.2% due to higher prices of plant products by 48.3% and higher prices of animal products by 16.6%.

Prices of construction works and materials

Prices of construction works increased by 17.5%, year-on-year, in September, compared to August of this year, they rose by 1.7%. In total, for the first nine months of 2022, prices of construction work increased by 17.8%.

Prices of construction materials increased by 21.9%, year-on-year, compared to August 2022, they rose by 4.2%. In total, since the beginning of the year, a year-on-year growth reached 25.9%.
