As of September 30, 2024, the Slovak Republic had 5,421,272 inhabitants, which was 6,011 less compared to the same period of the previous year (5,427,283).

In 3^th Q 2024, there were 12 168 live births in the Slovak Republic, 727 fewer than in the same period of the previous year, and 13 265 deaths, 668 more than in the 3^th Q of the previous year. The natural decrease of the population was 1 097 persons, 1 395 persons lower than in the 3^th Q 2023.

The net foreign migration reached 225 persons in the 3^th Q 2024 (there were 1 596 immigrants and 1 371 emigrants).

The total decrease of the population of the Slovak Republic at the end of 3^th Q 2024 was 872 inhabitants, 1 302 persons lower compared to the same period of the previous year.
