In 2nd Q 2024, there were 11,345 live births in the Slovak Republic, 838 fewer than in the same period of the previous year, and 12,187 deaths, 428 fewer than in the 2nd Q of the previous year. The natural decrease of the population was 842 persons, 410 persons lower than in the 2nd Q 2023.
The net foreign migration reached 411 persons in the 2 nd Q 2024 (there were 1,496 immigrants and 1,085 emigrants).
The total decrease of the population of the Slovak Republic at the end of 2nd Q 2024 was 431 inhabitants, 474 persons lower compared to the same period of the previous year.
