Employment

In July 2019 compared with July 2018, the employment increased in accommodation by 16,7 %, construction by 7,7 %, food and beverage service activities by 7 %, selected market services by 6 %, information and communication by 5,9 %, transportation and storage by 5,7 % and sale and repair of motor vehicles by 2,1 %. It decreased in wholesale by 2,3 %, retail trade by 2,1 % and in industry by 0,4 %.

Over the first seven months of 2019 compared with the same period of 2018, the employment increased, on average, in accommodation by 11,4 %, construction by 8,6 %, selected market services by 7,1 %, food and beverage service activities by 6,5 %, information and communication by 5,5 %, transportation and storage by 5 %, sale and repair of motor vehicles by 2,3 % and in industry by 0,5 %. It dropped in retail trade by 1,9 % and in wholesale by 1,8 %.

Average monthly wage

In July 2019 compared with July 2018, the average nominal monthly wage increased in food and beverage service activities by 13,4 % (amounted to EUR 533),  accommodation by 7,9 % (EUR 796), selected market services by 7,7 % (EUR 1 022), transportation and storage by 7,3 % (EUR 1 035), wholesale by 5,8 % (EUR 1 032),  information and communication by 5,6 % (EUR 1 917), retail trade by 5,1 % (EUR 776), construction by 4,5 % (EUR 765), sale and repair of motor vehicles by 3,4 % (EUR 1 034) and in industry by 2,8 % (EUR 1 158).  

In July 2019, the average real monthly wage grew, year-on-year, in food and beverage service activities by 10,2 %, accommodation by 4,9 %, selected market services by 4,7 %, transportation and storage by 4,3 %, wholesale by 2,8 %, information and communication by 2,6 %, retail trade by 2,1 %, construction by 1,6 % and in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 0,5 %. It dropped only in industry by 0,1 %.

Over the first seven months of 2019, compared with the same period of 2018, the wage increased in food and beverage service activities by 10,6 % (amounted to EUR 511), selected market services by 8,3 % (EUR 1 005), transportation and storage by 8 % (EUR 1 010), accommodation by 7,9 % (EUR 766), wholesale by 7,6 % (EUR 1 024), retail trade by 6 % (EUR 756),   industry by 5,5 % (EUR 1150), construction by 5 % (EUR 730), sale and repair of motor vehicles by 4,9 % (EUR 1 037) and in information and communication by 4,7 % (EUR 1 972).

The real monthly wage increased, year-on-year, in food and beverage service activities by 7,9 %, selected market services by 5,7 %, transportation and storage by 5,4 %, accommodation by 5,3 %, wholesale by 5 %, retail trade by 3,4 %, industry by 2,9 %, construction by 2,4 %, sale and repair of motor vehicles by 2,3 % and in information and communication by 2,1 %.
