Data revision:

Business Statistics Section at the SOSR decided to revise methodology  in the section manufacture of transport equipment, which is one of 13 special aggregates of the industrial branches.

Current calculation of  industrial production index within car manufacture is realized from expression of values, i.e. values in euro, compared with previous methodology based on natural units, i.e. number of pieces of produced cars. The reason of this change is to collect more exactly the real statement of car manufacture in the SR, in which the portfolio of produced cars towards car manufacture with higher added value of cars, i. e. cars with and higher engine capacity. Because the manufacture of transport equipment, especially cars, is an important item of industrial production of the SR, also of GDP in the country, also compliance between methodology and economic reality in the sector is monitored in detail.

For the first time, new methodology was take into consideration in results of industrial production in the month November 2018 (published 10th January 2019). Revision of data since 2008, which related mostly subsector manufacture of transport equipment and also to all cumulative data, to which this item is entering (manufacturing, industry as a whole), was also realized. 10th January 2019 it came to adjustment/revision of data in all types of outputs within industrial production:

Note: preliminary data; industrial production represents volume production changes in its natural expression. Data are adjusted from the influence of the number of working days by program JDEMETRA+ and during processing of every month they are back-casted from the beginning of the time series. In November 2018, compared with the same period in 2017, the number of working days was higher by one day and since the beginning of the year, it was higher by 4 days.
