Development in December 2018 in comparison with November 2018 1)
Turnover increased, month-on-month, in manufacturing by 0,3 % and in selected market services by 0,2 %. It decreased in information and communication by 5,2 %, in construction by 1,7 % and in transportation and storage by 1,6 %.
Development in December 2018 compared with December 2017
Turnover in industry increased by 4 %. The development was affected by increase in mining and quarrying by 23,5 %; in manufacturing by 7,8 %; water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 3,7 % and by a decrease in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 13 %. In terms of particular groupings of industrial sectors, which contributed at most to the total turnover increase, the most significant growth was recorded in manufacture of transport equipment by 35,4 %, manufacture of wood, paper product and printing by 4,5 %, manufacture of rubber and plastic products and non-metallic mineral products by 2,5 %, mining and quarrying by 23,5 % and in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation by 3,7 %. Turnover decreased mainly in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 13 %, manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 15,9 %, manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products by 17,4 %, other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 10,4 % and in manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 3,6 %.
Turnover in construction increased by 10,5 %.
Turnover in transportation and storage 2) increased, year-on-year, by 3,3 % due to higher turnover in all activities, most significantly in land transport and transport via pipelines by 3,9 % and in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 0,5 %.
Turnover in information and communication 3) increased by 1,1 %, year-on-year, in particular, mainly due to an increase in information service activities by 27,9 %. Turnover decreased, year-on-year, in computer programming by 8,5 % and in publishing activities by 25,8 %.
In selected market services 4), total turnover increased by 12,7 %. The development was affected most considerably by a rise in the field of real estates by 29,7 %, administrative, office support and other business support activities by 13,4 % and in gambling and betting activities by 13,2 %. Turnover decreased the most in activities of travel agencies and tour operators by 9,9 %.
Development 2018 in comparison with the same period in 2017
Total turnover in industry increased by 6,1 %. The development by the sections of SK NACE Rev. 2 was affected by an increase in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 7,8 %; manufacturing by 7,6 %; mining and quarrying by 6,3 % and by a decrease in in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 3,6 %. In terms of particular groupings of industrial sectors, turnover increased mostly in manufacture of transport equipment by 19,7 %, manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 7,2 %, manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 6,1 %, and manufacture of wood and paper products, printing by 6,9 % and in manufacture of textiles, apparel, leather and related products by 5,8 %. Turnover decreased, year-on-year, in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 14,7 %, electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 3,6 %, manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products by 7,9 %, in other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 2,9 % and in manufacture of electrical equipment by 1 %.
Turnover in construction enterprises increased by 10,9 %.
Turnover in transportation and storage rose, year-on-year, by 5 %, as a result of the higher turnover mainly in land transport and transport via pipelines by 5,4 % and in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 4,7 %. Turnover decreased only in water transport by 9,3 %.
Total turnover in information and communication increased by 8,3 %. It increased mostly in computer programming by 14,4 %, information service activities by 17,2 % and telecommunications. Turnover dropped only in publishing activities by 25,5 %.
Turnover in selected market services increased by 11,3 %. The development affected the growth almost in all activities, most considerably in administrative, office support and other business support activities by 23,8 %, real estate activities by 23,3 % and in advertising and market research by 11,1 %. Turnover decreased only in legal and accounting activities by 2,9 %.
