Turnover rose in most sectors, the decline in construction eased significantly
October´s turnover increased in 4 out of 5 monthly monitored sectors of the economy, rising from 4% to 8%. Turnover in industry rose by over 5%, it was the second highest this year. Although lower turnover continued in construction, the rate of decline was the second slowest since the beginning of the year.
In the key sector of the economy, industry, the enterprises1)2), recorded a year-on-year turnover growth by 5.7% (at constant prices) in October 2024. It was the second highest growth this year. Among the 16 monitored industrial sectors1), 9 of them recorded a higher year-on-year turnover.
October´s turnover in selected market services2) rose by 8.2% year-on-year, the growth was the mildest in the last three months.
Turnover growth continued in transportation and storage enterprises, it was higher by 4% in October.
Turnover in information and communication activities2) increased by 7% year-on-year, the pace of growth has accelerated since August.
Turnover2) of construction enterprises dropped by 3.2% year-on-year in October 2024, it was the second slowest rate of decline this year. Lower turnover have persisted in construction for the past fourteen months.

Development in October 2024 compared to September 2024
Turnover in a month-on-month comparison (after seasonal adjustment) increased in 4 out of 5 sectors - in industry by 4.8%, construction by 6.9%, in transportation and storage enterprises by 2% and information and communication activities by 1.3%. It dropped only in selected market services by 3%.
Development in the first ten months of 2024
In total, for the first ten months of 2024, turnover increased year-on-year in three sectors, namely in selected market services by 7.9%, information and communication activities by 5.3% and in transportation and storage by 2.1%. On the contrary, cumulative turnover dropped by 7.1% in construction and by 2.2% in industry.
