In August compared with the previous month, the confidence indicator in construction increased by 0,5 points to -17,5 due to more favourable evaluations of the overall level of order books. The current result is exceeding the long-term average by 7,5 points.

Compared with the situation in the previous month, the indicator of the building activity trend over the past three months deteriorated by 14 points to 3, mainly due to enterprises performing construction of buildings. A decrease of the construction activity was recorded by 15 % of respondents, its increase by 34 % of respondents, and 51 % of enterprises considered it to be unchanged. Compared with July, the evaluation of the current level of overall order books improved by 1 point to -26. 4 % of respondents reported them to be more than sufficient, 74 % sufficient and for 22 % of them the current level of orders was insufficient. 33 % of respondents included shortage of employees, 28 % financial constraints, 22 % insufficient demand, 7 % weather conditions and 3 % lack of materials and mechanisms into the most significant factors* limiting a growth of construction production currently. Respondents also report: lack of qualified staff, bureaucracy, inadequate construction preparedness, lack of transparency in the use of public tenders, payment recklessness and from it resulting secondary insolvency. 30 % of enterprises do not see any barriers of growth currently. Expectations of respondents in estimation of the employment development were unchanged month-on-month, the business balance of the expected number of employees, remained at -9. Over the next three months, 16 % of respondents expect an increase of employment, 66 % expect a stable development and 18 % of enterprises expect a decrease. Compared with July, the business balance of the expected construction production prices over the next three months increased by 3 points to -3, mainly due to enterprises preforming civil engineering. 16 % of respondents expect an increase in the price level of own production, 69 % do not expect any price changes and 15 % of respondents expect their decrease.
