Development in October 2019 in comparison with September 2019 1)

Turnover increased, month-on-month, in selected market services by 2,2 %, transportation and storage by 1,6 %, information and communication by 0,8 % and in industry by 0,4 %. It dropped in construction by 3 %.

Development in October 2019 compared with October 2018

Turnover in industry continued to decrease the fifth consecutive month, compared with October 2018 it decreased by 6,1 %. The development by the SK NACE sections was affected by decrease in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 13,5 %, manufacturing by 5,4 %, mining and quarrying by 1,3 % and by a rise in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 0,2 %.

In terms of particular groupings of industrial sectors, which contributed at most to the total turnover decrease, the most significant drop was recorded in manufacture of transport equipment by 5,8 %, electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 13,5 %, manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 8,5 %, in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 11,6 % and in manufacture of wood and paper products, printing by 13,4 %. Turnover increased only in manufacture of food, beverages and tobacco products by 7,2 %, manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 8,3 %, manufacture of rubber and plastic products and other non-mineral products by 1,8 % and in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 0,2 %.

Turnover in construction again decreased after a growth in the previous month, compared with October 2018, it dropped by 2,7 %.

Turnover in transportation and storage 2) increased by 4,1 % compared with October 2018. A rise was affected, year-on-year, by higher turnover in all activities, mainly in warehousing and support activities in transportation by 5,3 % and in postal and courier activities by 15,9 %.

Turnover in information and communication 3) increased, year-on-year, by 6,5 % affected mostly by a rise in computer programming by 7,1 % and in telecommunications by 6,3 %. It decreased only in publishing activities.

In selected market services 4), total turnover increased by 3,9 %, year-on-year. Turnover rose in most activities, mainly in administrative, office support and other business support activities by 19,4 %, real estate activities by 14 % and in architectural and engineering activities by 11,6 %. It dropped mostly only in legal and accounting activities and security and investigation activities.

Development over the first ten months of 2019 in comparison with the same period in 2018

Total turnover in industry increased, year-on-year, by 0,6 %. The development by the sections of SK NACE Rev. 2 was affected by an increase in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 10,7 %, manufacturing by 1,9 % and by a fall in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 10 % and in mining and quarrying by 4,6 %.  In terms of particular groupings of industrial sectors, turnover increased in manufacture of transport equipment by 7,1 %, other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 7,6 %, manufacture of food, beverages and tobacco products by 5 %, manufacture of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products by 2,5 % and in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 10,7 %. Turnover decreased, year-on-year, mostly in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 10 %, manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 7,9 %, manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 2,6 %, manufacture of textiles, apparel, leather and related products by 6,5 % and in manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. by 2,2 %.

Turnover in construction enterprises increased by 0,5 %.

Turnover in transportation and storage rose, year-on-year, by 3,6 % affected by a rise in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 7,6 % and in postal and courier activities by 14,7 %. A year-on-year decrease was only in land transport and transport via pipelines.

Total turnover in information and communication increased by 8,1 %. The development was affected by a rise mainly in computer programming by 11,5 % and in  telecommunication by 5,9 %. Turnover decreased, year-on-year,  only in motion picture, video and television programme production.

In selected market services , total turnover increased by 6,9 %. It rose mostly in administrative, office support and other business support activities by 13,6 %, real estate activities by 9,3 % and in legal and accounting activities by 5,7 %. Turnover remained unchanged, year-on-year, in travel agencies and tour operator activities, a decrease was not recorded in any activity.
