In October 2019, construction output decreased again, year-on-year, by 2,4 % to EUR 621,6 million, after the growth in the previous month. After seasonal adjustment, it decreased by 2,3 %, compared with September 2019.

In October 2019, output realized by domestic construction companies amounted to EUR 581,2 million. Compared with October 2018, it decreased by 4,3 %, mainly due to a decrease of works in new construction, renewals and enhancements by 8,7 %. The volume of construction works in repairs and maintenance was higher by 1,6 %. In the structure of the domestic output, new construction represented 69,9 % (by 3,3 p.p. less than in October 2018), the share of repair and maintenance works comprised 26,6 %. In terms of output specification, the volume of civil engineering works dropped by 10,5 % and on buildings by 0,2 %. As part of the domestic output, works on buildings represented 62,7 %, civil engineering accounted for 37,3 %.

Output carried out by non-domestic construction companies remained favourable, in October 2019, it rose by 37,4 %, year-on-year and it represented 6,5 % of the total output volume.

On average, over the first ten months of 2019 compared with the corresponding period of 2018, construction output dropped by 2,3 % and reached the volume of EUR 4 707,6 million. Domestic output decreased by 3,5 %, year-on-year, to EUR 4 419,5 million. Works on new construction, renewals and enhancements decreased by 6,1 % to EUR 3 136,1 million and construction works on repairs and maintenance by 0,5 % to EUR 1 148,6 million. In the structure of the domestic output, the share of new construction, renewals and enhancements decreased by 1,9 p.p. to 71 %, the share of repairs and maintenance works rose by 26 %. Non-domestic output increased by 22,6 %.
