The price growth dynamics of industry slightly slowed down, but prices of agricultural products continued to grow unstoppably
While the development of prices of industry and construction relatively slowed down, prices of plant and animal products continued to rise significantly.
Industrial domestic producer prices were by 40.9% higher in May 2022 compared to May 2021. In particular, prices increased in electricity and gas supply by 76.1% and in mining and quarrying by 37.9%. In manufacturing, which covers several key industries, prices were higher by 21.4% year-on-year and they increased by 6.5% in water supply and waste management.
An uninterrupted rise in prices during this year was recorded in manufacture of petroleum products with a year-on-year increase in price of 92.3% and in manufacture of food products, beverages and tobacco with a rise in price of 23.7%.
Month-on-month, industrial domestic producer prices fell by 4.4%. In summary, however, since the beginning of the year, prices of this sector increased by 37.9% year-on-year. Prices increased the most in electricity and gas supply by 75.3%.
Industrial non-domestic producer prices increased by 23.6% year-on-year. Energy prices were higher, but especially prices of electricity and gas supply by 121.5% and water supply and waste management by 136.1%.
In a month-on-month comparison, industrial non-domestic producer prices increased by 0.5%. Prices of mining and quarrying increased by 24.8%, water supply and waste management by 9.6% and manufacturing by 2.4%. Prices of electricity and gas supply decreased by 17.2%.
In summary, in the five months of 2022, industrial non-domestic producer prices were by 22.3% higher than a year ago. Prices increased the most dynamically in water supply and waste management by 156.8% and electricity and gas supply by 131%.
Prices of agricultural products
In May, prices of agricultural products rose by 33.3% year-on-year. Prices of crop products were by 58% higher than in the same period last year, prices of animal products increased by 19.3%. Prices of cereal products increased by 70.6%. As for the animal products, prices of poultry slaughtered increased by 37.4% and prices of raw cow milk by 20.3%.
Since the beginning of the year, prices of agricultural products increased by an average of 24.2%. Prices of plant products increased by 39.6%, animal products by 11.6%.
Prices of construction materials
Prices of construction work increased by 17.3% year-on-year, compared to April 2022 they were more expensive by 1%. In summary, in the five months of 2022, a rise in prices of construction work reached 18.3%.
Prices of construction materials increased by 31.8% year-on-year, compared to April 2022 they were higher by 2.5%. In summary, a year-on-year growth reached 27.8% since the beginning of the year.
