In February 2020, construction output continued to increase the second month in a row, compared to February 2019, it rose by 7,6 % to EUR 352,4 million. After seasonal adjustment it rose by 1,3 % compared with January 2020.
In February 2020, compared with February 2019, output realized by domestic construction companies increased by 4,9 % and amounted to EUR 323,3 million. The development of domestic output was affected by a year-on-year increase in new construction, renewals and enhancements by 4,1 % and in repairs and maintenance by 5 %. In the structure of the domestic output, new construction, renewals and enhancements represented 70,4 %, the share of repair and maintenance works was 27,1 %. In terms of output specification, construction on building rose by 7,7 % (it represented 75,7 % of the domestic output). Civil engineering works decreased by 3 % (it represented 24,3 % of the total domestic output) in February.
Output carried out by non-domestic construction companies increased by 50,6 % year-on-year. It represented 8,2 % of the total output volume.
Over the first two months of 2020, compared with the corresponding period in 2019, construction output increased by 7,2 % and amounted to EUR 663,1. Domestic output increased by 5,3 % to EUR 611,2 million. Volume of works on repairs and maintenance increased by 6,2 % and amounted to EUR 171,8 million. Works on new construction, renewals and enhancements increased by 3,9 % to EUR 422,7 million. In the structure of the domestic output, the share of new construction, renewals and enhancements decreased to 69,2 %, repairs and maintenance works represented 28,1 %. Non-domestic output increased by 37,8 %.
