Employment

In February 2020 compared with February 2019, the employment increased in information and communication by 5,2 %, selected market services by 1,8 %, construction by 1,4 %, accommodation by 1,3 % and in transportation and storage by 1,2 %. It decreased in retail trade by 2,4 %, industry by 2,1 %, wholesale and in sale and repair of motor vehicles equally by 0,6 % and in food and beverage service activities by 0,5 %.

Over the first two months of 2020, compared with the corresponding period in 2019, the employment increased in accommodation by 4,4 %, construction by 0,8 %, selected market services by 2,7 %, food and beverage service activities 1,9 %, information and communication by 5,6 %, sale and repair of motor vehicles by 0,4 % and in transportation and storage by 2 %. It decreased in retail trade by 2,1 %, industry by 1,9 % and in wholesale by 0,8 %.

Average monthly wage

In February 2020 compared with February 2019, the average nominal monthly wage increased in accommodation by 13 % (amounted to EUR 807), in food and beverage service activities by 12,5 % (EUR 588), in retail trade by 9 % (EUR 789), selected market services by 8,1 % (EUR 1 033),  wholesale by 7,7 % (EUR 1 038), sale and repair of motor vehicles by 7 % (EUR 1 061), industry by 6,3 % (EUR 1 136), transportation and storage by 6,1 % (EUR 1 007), construction by 4,6 % (EUR 715) and in  information and communication by 3,8 % (EUR 1 898).

In February 2020, the average real monthly wage rose in accommodation by 9,7 %, food and beverage service activities by 9,2 %, retail trade by 5,8 %, selected market services by 5 %, wholesale by 4,6 %, sale and repair of motor vehicles by 3,9 %, industry by 3,2 %, transportation and storage by 3 %, construction by 1,6 % and in information and communication by 0,8 % year-on-year.

Over the first two months of 2020, compared with the corresponding period in 2019, the wage on average increased in retail trade by 9 % (amounted to EUR 797), accommodation by 7,8 % (EUR 802), selected market services by 6,6 % (EUR 1 029), transportation and storage by 6,3 % (EUR 1 031), industry by 6 % (EUR 1 154), construction by 4,4 % (EUR 728),  wholesale by 4,4 % (EUR 1 054), information and communication by 4,3 % (EUR 1 945),  food and beverage service activities by 3,8 % (EUR 517) and in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 3 % (EUR 1 071).

The real monthly wage increased in retail trade by 5,8 %, accommodation by 4,7 %, selected market services by 3,5 %, transportation and storage by 3,2 %, industry by 2,9 %, construction and wholesale equally by 1,4 %, information and communication by 1,3 % and in food and beverage service activities by 0,8 % year-on-year. It remained unchanged in sale and repair of motor vehicles.
