Employment

In April 2019 compared with April 2018, the employment increased in accommodation by 10,6 %, construction by 10,5 %, selected market services by 7,6 %, food and beverage service activities by 6,5 %, information and communication by 5,7 %, transportation and storage by 5,3 %, sale and repair of motor vehicles by 0,8 % and in industry by 0,2 %. It decreased in wholesale by 1,9 % and in retail trade by 1,7 %.

Over the first four months of 2019 compared with the same period of 2018, the employment increased, on average, in accommodation by 9,4 %, construction by 8,8 %, selected market services by 7,4 %, food and beverage service activities by 6,4 %, information and communication by 5,3 %, transportation and storage by 4,5 %, sale and repair of motor vehicles by 3,2 %, and in industry by 0,6 %. It dropped in retail trade by 1,8 % and in wholesale by 1,6 %.

Average monthly wage

In April 2019 compared with April 2018, the average nominal monthly wage increased in information and communication by 15,8 % (amounted to EUR 2 054), in food and beverage service activities by 12,3 % (EUR 510), industry by 8,1 % (EUR 1 187), transportation and storage by 7,1 % (EUR 1 012), selected market services by 6,9 % (EUR 981), accommodation by 6,1 % (EUR 743), wholesale by 4,9 % (EUR 1 006), retail trade by 4,6 % (EUR 747), construction by 4,3 % (EUR 732) and in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 1 % (EUR 1 030).  

In April 2019, the average real monthly wage grew, year-on-year, in information and communication by 13,2 %, food and beverage service activities by 9,8 %, industry by 5,7 %, transportation and storage by 4,7 %, selected market services by 4,5 %, accommodation by 3,7 %, wholesale by 2,5 %, retail trade by 2,2 % and in construction by 2 %. It decreased only in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 1,3 %.

Over the first four months of 2019, compared with the same period of 2018, the wage increased in food and beverage service activities by 9 % (amounted to EUR 499), wholesale by 8,7 % (EUR 1 016), transportation and storage by 8,7 % (EUR 986), selected market services by 8,1 % (EUR 989), accommodation by 7,8 % (EUR 747), industry by 6,4 % (EUR 1123), sale and repair of motor vehicles by 6,4 % (EUR 1 032), construction by 6,3 % (EUR 714), retail trade by 5,7 % (EUR 739),  and in information and communication by 4,6 % (EUR 1 991).

The real monthly wage increased, year-on-year, in food and beverage service activities by 6,4 %, wholesale and  transportation and storage equally by 6,2 %, selected market services by 5,6 %, accommodation by 5,3 %, industry and sale and repair of motor vehicles by 3,9 %, construction by 3,8 % and in retail trade by 3,2 %, in information and communication by 2,1 %.
