Employment

In May 2019 compared with May 2018, the employment increased in accommodation by 13,1 %, construction by 9,2 %, selected market services by 7,7 %, information and communication by 6,2 %, transportation and storage by 5,7 %, food and beverage service activities by 5,2 %, sale and repair of motor vehicles by 1,7 %. It decreased in retail trade by 1,8 % and in industry by 0,1 %.

Over the first five months of 2019 compared with the same period of 2018, the employment increased, on average, in accommodation by 10,2 %, construction by 8,9 %, selected market services by 7,4 %, food and beverage service activities by 6,1 %, transportation and storage by 4,8 %, information and communication by 5,5 %, sale and repair of motor vehicles by 2,9 % and in industry by 0,4 %. It dropped in retail trade by 1,9 % and in wholesale by 1,7 %.

Average monthly wage

In May 2019 compared with May 2018, the average nominal monthly wage increased in in food and beverage service activities by 14,5 % (amounted to EUR 528),  transportation and storage by 13,8 % (EUR 1 083), industry by 10,4 % (EUR 1 264),  wholesale by 10,1 % (EUR 1 049), selected market services by 10,1 % (EUR 1 022), accommodation by 9,4 % (EUR 789), retail trade by 8,1 % (EUR 790), information and communication by 6,2 % (EUR 1 983), construction by 4,5 % (EUR 744) and in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 1,6 % (EUR 1 052).  

In May 2019, the average real monthly wage grew, year-on-year, in food and beverage service activities by 11,5 %, transportation and storage by 10,8 %, industry by 7,5 %, wholesale and in selected market services equally by 7,2 %, accommodation by 6,5 %, retail trade by 5,3 %, information and communication by 3,4 % and construction by 1,8 %. It dropped only in sale and repair of motor vehicles by 1,1 %.

Over the first five months of 2019, compared with the same period of 2018, the wage increased in food and beverage service activities by 10 % (amounted to EUR 505), transportation and storage by 9,7 % (EUR 1 005), wholesale by 8,9 % (EUR 1 023), selected market services by 8,5 % (EUR 996), accommodation by 8,2 % (EUR 756), industry by 7,3 % (EUR 1151), retail trade by 6,2 % (EUR 749),  construction by 5,9 % (EUR 720), sale and repair of motor vehicles by 5,4 % (EUR 1 036) and in information and communication by 4,9 % (EUR 1 989).

The real monthly wage increased, year-on-year, in food and beverage service activities by 7,4 %, transportation and storage by 7,1 %, wholesale by 6,3 %, selected market services by 6 %, accommodation by 5,7 %, industry by 4,8 %, retail trade by 3,7 %, construction by 3,4 %, sale and repair of motor vehicles by 2,9 % and information and communication by 2,4 %.
