In July, industrial production (IP) increased by 7.8 % year-on-year. Development by sections of SK NACE Rev. 2 affected an increase in manufacturing by 8 %, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 8.8 % and a decrease in mining and quarrying by 7.6 %.
As for the manufacturing that contributed the most to the overall growth of production, the most significant increase was recorded in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (by 31.4 %), manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (by 25.6 %), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 8.8 %), manufacture of transport equipment (by 2.7 %) and manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (by 10.6 %). Total production was affected by a decrease in other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment (by 12.8 %), manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (by 26.8 %) and in mining and quarrying (by 7.6 %).
According to the main industrial groupings, compared to July 2020, production related to energy increased by 10 %, production for intermediate consumption by 8.9 %, production of capital goods by 8.2 % and production of durable goods by 0.2 %. Production of non-durable goods was lower by 0.4 %.
After seasonal adjustment, industrial production increased by 1 % in July 2021 compared to June 2021.
Since the beginning of the year, IP increased by 17.7 % year-on-year, of which in manufacturing by 18.7 %, in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 13.6 % and in mining and quarrying by 3.4 %.
As for the manufacturing that contributed the most to the overall growth of production, the most significant increase was in manufacture of transport equipment (by 26.5 %), manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products (by 26.6 %), manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. (by 27 %), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 13.6 %) and in manufacture of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products (by 13.8 %). Production decreased in manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (by 6.7 %) and in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (by 2.6 %).
According to the main industrial groupings, production of durable goods increased by 27.5 %, production of capital goods by 23.7 %, production for intermediate consumption by 17.5 %, production related to energy by 10 % and production of non-durable goods by 3.7 %.
