Turnover increased, month-on-month, in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles by 3,8 %, accommodation by 3 %, food and beverage service activities by 1,9 % and in wholesale by 1,4 %. It decreased in retail sale by 0,2 %.
Development in July 2019 compared with July 2018
In July, turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles again increased, year-on-year, by 8,7 % after a drop in the previous month. It decreased in all activities; in sale of motor vehicles by 7,9 %, sale of parts and accessories of motor vehicles by 22,4 % and in maintenance of motor vehicles by 6,6 %.
Turnover in wholesale also increased, after two-month decrease, it rose, year-on-year, by 1 %. Turnover increased in most activities, most considerably in wholesale of household goods by 9,2 %, wholesale of ICT equipment by 13,7 % and in wholesale of machinery and equipment by 8,3 %. Turnover dropped in non-specialized wholesale, wholesale on a fee or contract basis and in wholesale of agricultural raw materials and live animals.
Turnover in retail trade decreased, year-on-year, by 0,9 %. The development was affected by lower turnover mostly in retail sale in non-specialized stores by 2,3 % and in retail sale of ICT equipment in specialized stores by 17,5 %. Higher turnover was recorded, year-on-year, mostly in retail sale of other household goods in specialized stores.
Turnover in accommodation increased by 23,7 % in comparison with the corresponding period last year.
Turnover in food and beverage service activities was higher by 27,5 %, it was the highest increase since the beginning of year.
Development over the first seven months of 2019 compared with the corresponding period of 2018
Turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased by 6,3 % as a result of an increase in sale of motor vehicles by 7,2 %, in sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories by 11,7 % and in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 3 %.
Total turnover in wholesale increased by 1,7 % as a result of higher turnover in most activities, mainly in wholesale of household goods by 7,2 %, wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco by 3,7 % and in wholesale of machinery and equipment by 9,1 %. A turnover decrease was in wholesale on a fee or contract basis, other specialized wholesale and in wholesale of ICT equipment.
Turnover in retail trade did not change year-on-year. A rise was recorded mostly in retail sale of automotive fuels in specialized stores by 5,6 %, retail sale not in stores, stalls or markets by 5,1 % and in retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco in specialized stores by 14,2 %. Turnover decreased most considerably in retail sale in non-specialized stores and in retail sale of other goods in specialized stores.
Turnover in accommodation increased by 10,7 %.
Turnover in food and beverage service activities rose by 15,3 %.
