In November 2019, construction output amounted to EUR 581,2 million. Compared with November 2018, it decreased by 10,5 %, which was the most significant drop since February 2017.  After seasonal adjustment, it was lower by 3,8 %, compared with October 2019.

In November 2019, output realized by domestic construction companies decreased by 11,2 %, year-on-year and amounted to EUR 551,3 million. The drop was affected by a lower volume of works in new construction, renewals and enhancements by 14,8 % and in repairs and maintenance by 6,4 %. In the structure of the domestic output, new construction represented 69,5 % (by 2,7 p.p. less than in November 2018), the share of repair and maintenance works comprised 27,4 %. In terms of output specification, construction on building rose by 1,3 % (as part of the domestic output it represented 68,5 %). However, the volume of civil engineering works dropped significantly (by 30 %), it represented 31,5 % of the total output volume.

Output carried out by non-domestic construction companies continued to develop favourably. In November 2019, it rose by 5,8 %, year-on-year and it represented 5,1 % of the total output volume.

On average, over the first eleven months of 2019 compared with the corresponding period of 2018, construction output dropped by 3,2 % and reached the volume of EUR 5 288,7 million. Domestic output decreased by 4,5 %, year-on-year, to EUR 4 970,8 million. Works on new construction, renewals and enhancements decreased by 7,1 % to EUR 3 519 million and construction works in repairs and maintenance by 1,2 % and amounted to EUR 1 299,4 million. In the structure of the domestic output, the share of new construction, renewals and enhancements decreased by 2 p.p. to 70,8 %, the share of repairs and maintenance works rose by 26,1 %. Non-domestic output increased by 20,8 %.


Note: preliminary data; construction production includes volume of works realized by own employees; including estimation of production for self-employed persons and construction establishments of non-construction enterprises; absolute data are at current prices, indices are calculated from constant prices (average prices of 2015).  In November 2019, the number of working days was by one day lower compared with the corresponding period in 2018 and also from the beginning of the year.p.p. percentage point
