Development in June 2019 in comparison with May 20191)
Turnover increased, month-on-month, only in selected market services by 0,4 %. It decreased in transportation and storage by 3,2 %, industry by 2,7 %, construction by 1,1 % and in information and communication activities by 0,6 %.
Development in June 2019 compared with June 2018
Turnover in industry decreased by 7,4 %, reaching the lowest level since July 2016. The development by the SK NACE sections was affected by a decrease in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 12,8 %, mining and quarrying by 7,8 %, manufacturing by 7 %. There was an increase only in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 11 %. In terms of particular groupings of industrial sectors, which contributed the most to the total turnover decrease, the most significant drop was recorded in manufacture of transport equipment by 6,8 %, electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 12,8 %, manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products by 41,9 %, manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 8,4 % and in manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c.by 8,2 %. Turnover increased only in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 8,2 %, other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 6,4 % and in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation by 11 %.
In June 2019, after an annual growth, turnover in construction decreased by 2,3 %.
Turnover in transportation and storage2) increased by 0,2 %, year-on-year which was the lowest increase since the beginning of the year. Turnover increased mainly in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 2 % and in postal and courier activities by 8,7 %. A decrease was recorded only in land transport and transport via pipelines.
Turnover in information and communication3) increased, year-on-year, by 8,9 % affected mostly by a higher turnover in computer programming by 11,5 % and in telecommunication by 8 %. There was a decrease only in motion picture, video and television programme production.
In selected market services4), total turnover increased by 4,8 %. The increase was affected by a higher turnover mainly in real estate activities by 11,8 %, architectural and engineering activities by 13,6 % and in advertising and market research activities by 9,2 %. Turnover decreased the most considerably in gambling and betting activities.
Development over the first six months of 2019 in comparison with the same period in 2018
Total turnover in industry increased by 4,1 %. The development by the sections of SK NACE Rev. 2 was affected by the increase in water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation by 13,3 %; manufacturing by 5,4 %; mining and quarrying by 3,7 % and by a drop in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 6,1 %. In terms of particular groupings of industrial sectors, turnover increased mostly in manufacture of transport equipment by 16,9 %, other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment by 8,2 %, manufacture of food, beverages and tobacco products by 4,7 %, water supply, sewerage and waste management and remediation by 13,3 % and in mining and quarrying by 3,7 %. Turnover decreased, year-on-year, mainly in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply by 6,1 %, manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products by 6,9 %, manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products except machinery and equipment by 2 %, manufacture of textiles, apparel, leather and related products by 8,7 % and in manufacture of chemicals and chemical products by 7,5 %.
Turnover in construction enterprises increased by 3,5 %.
Turnover in transportation and storage rose, year-on-year, by 4,1 % affected by a higher turnover in warehousing and support activities for transportation by 9,1 % and in postal and courier activities by 11 %. It dropped only in land transport and transport via pipelines.
Total turnover in information and communication increased by 10 %. It rose, year-on-year, in all activities, most considerably in computer programming by 11,9 %, telecommunication by 8,1 % and in information service activities by 11,1 %.
In selected market services4), turnover increased by 10,3 %. Turnover increased in all activities, most considerably in administrative, office support and other business support activities by 13,1 %, real estate activities and gambling and betting activities equally by 7,5 %.
