Turnover increased, month-on-month, in accommodation by 5 %, food and beverage service activities by 2,5 % and in retail trade by 1,6 %. Prices decreased in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles by 3 % and in wholesale by 1,7 %.
Development in June 2019 compared with June 2018
In June, turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles decreased, year-on-year, for the first time since the beginning of year. It dropped by 0,9 % affected by a fall in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 2 %, turnover in sale of motor vehicles remained unchanged, year-on-year. Turnover rose only in sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories by 1,3 %.
Turnover in wholesale decreased the second month in a row after a long-term growth. In June 2019, it dropped, year-on-year, by 5 % in total. A fall was recorded in most activities, of which most considerably in wholesale of ICT equipment by 28,6 %, other specialized wholesale by 5,9 % and non-specialized wholesale by 8,7 %. An increase was only in wholesale of agricultural raw materials and live animals, wholesale of household goods and wholesale on a fee or contract basis.
Turnover in retail trade decreased, year-on-year, by 0,4 %. The development was affected by lower turnover in retail sale in non-specialized stores by 3,3 % and in retail sale of ICT equipment in specialized stores by 9,3 %. Higher turnover were recorded, year-on-year, mostly in retail sale of goods for recreation and culture and in retail sale of other household goods in specialized stores.
Turnover in accommodation increased by 8,8 % in comparison with the corresponding period last year.
Turnover in food and beverage service activities was higher by 22 %.
Development over the first half of 2019 compared with the corresponding period of 2018
Turnover in sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased by 6 % as a result of an increase in sale of motor vehicles by 7,1 %, in sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories by 10 % and in repair and maintenance of motor vehicles by 2,3 %.
Total turnover in wholesale increased by 1,9 % as a result of higher turnover in most activities, mainly in wholesale of household goods by 6,9 %, wholesale of food, beverages and tobacco by 3,9 % and in wholesale of machinery and equipment by 9,2 %. A turnover decrease was in wholesale on a fee or contract basis, other specialized wholesale and in wholesale of ICT equipment.
Turnover in retail trade increased by 0,1 %. The most considerable increases were recorded in retail sale not in stores, stalls or markets by 6 %, retail sale of automotive fuels in specialized stores by 6,2 % and in retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco in specialized stores by 15,7 %. Turnover decreased most considerably in retail sale in non-specialized stores and in retail sale of other goods in specialized stores.
Turnover in accommodation increased by 8,4 %.
Turnover in food and beverage service activities rose by 13,2 %.
