In June 2019, construction output again decreased after a growth in the previous month. Compared with June 2018, it decreased by 3,7 % and amounted to EUR 523,8 million. After seasonal adjustment, it was lower by 1,1 % compared with May 2019.
In June 2019, output realized by domestic construction companies decreased by 4,5 %, year-on-year, and amounted to EUR 495,2 million. Its share on the total construction output decreased, year-on-year, by 0,8 p.p. to 94,5 %. A year-on-year decrease of production was affected by lower volume of works in new construction, renewals and enhancements by 6,2 %, repairs and maintenance works by 0,9 %. In the structure of the domestic output, the share of new construction, renewals and enhancements represented 72,6 % (by 1,3 p.p. lower than in June 2018). The share of repairs and maintenance works represented 24,6 %. In terms of output specification, the volume of works on buildings increased by 2,5 %. Civil engineering works decreased by 16,2 %. As part of the domestic output, works on buildings represented 66,9 %, civil engineering works accounted for 33,1 %.
Output carried out by non-domestic construction companies increased by 13,2 %, it comprised 5,5 % of the total output volume.
On average, over the first half of 2019 compared with the corresponding period of 2018, construction output dropped by 1,5 % and reached the volume of EUR 2 410,3 million. Domestic output decreased by 2,1 %, year-on-year, to EUR 2 269,3 million. Works on new construction, renewals and enhancements decreased by 4,3 % to EUR 1 614,6 million. The volume of works in repairs and maintenance increased, year-on-year, by 0,8 % and amounted to EUR 588 million. In the structure of the domestic output, the share of new construction, renewals and enhancements decreased by 1,7 p.p. to 71,1 %, the share of repairs and maintenance works represented 25,9 %. Non-domestic output increased by 8,1 %.
