In November, the confidence indicator in industry increased by 2,4 p.p. to 1,7. The development of the indicator was favourably influenced by the increase of the expected production over the next three months and the increase of order books.
Compared with November, the industrial production trend had a downward trend when compared with October it decreased by 17 p.p. to 10. A significant decrease was recorded mainly in manufacture of transport equipment. An increase of the industrial production was reported, on the contrary, mainly by respondents in other manufacture, repair and installations, in manufacture of electrical equipment and in manufacture of textiles and apparel. The business balance of the aggregate orders increased by 3 p.p. to -2. An increase of orders (weighted by production) was recorded mainly in manufacture of computers, electronic and optical products and food. A decrease of orders was recorded mainly in other manufacture, repair and installation of machinery and equipment. The majority of respondents (88 %) consider the current orders to be sufficient. Compared with October, the balance of foreign orders increased by 4 p.p. to -2. An increase of foreign orders was reported mainly in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products, food and textiles. A decrease of foreign orders was recorded, on the contrary, mainly by respondents in other manufacture, repair and installations and in manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c. 87 % of respondents considered the current level of foreign orders to be sufficient. In November, the balance of the finished goods stock remained at the level of October (-1). The increase of the goods stock is expected mainly by respondents in manufacture of textiles and a decrease in the chemical industry. The majority of respondents (96 %) consider the state of the stock to be sufficient. Compared with the previous month, the balance of the industrial production over the next three months, increased by 4 p.p. to 6. An increase of the production was recorded mainly in other manufacture, repair and installations and in the chemical industry, by size groups in enterprises employing 100 to 249 people and by regions in Nitra and Prešov. A decrease of the production is expected in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products, electrical equipment and machinery and equipment n.e.c. Compared with November, the balance of the expected development of industrial products prices, decreased by 2 p.p. to 1. A price decrease is assumed mainly in manufacture of basic metal and fabricated metal products and in the chemical industry. An increase of prices is expected mainly in manufacture of other non-metallic products and machinery and equipment n.e.c. Compared with the previous month, the balance of the employment decreased by 3 p.p. to 3. A decrease in the number of employees is assumed mainly in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products, machinery and equipment n.e.c. and in electrical equipment, by size groups in enterprises employing 1000 and more people and by regions in Trnava and Žilina. On the contrary, an increase in the number of employees is expected, in manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products and food, by size groups, in enterprises employing 100 and 249 people and by regions in Trenčín. 76 % of respondents expect a stabilization of employment.
