In August, industrial new orders returned to growth

In August 2023, the value of industrial new orders increased by 7.5% year-on-year and reached a volume¹⁾ of EUR 5.38 billion. After taking seasonal effects into account, new orders increased month-on-month by 5.7%²⁾.

In August 2023, industrial new orders returned to a year-on-year growth after a one-month decline. The volume increased in 6 of the 12 monitored sectors of industry.

Orders increased year-on-year the most in manufacture of motor vehicles, semi-trailers and trailers, manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and manufacture of clothing. Orders decreased year-on-year in manufacture of electrical equipment, manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, and manufacture of textiles.
