In July, new orders in industry started decreasing
In July 2023, the value of new orders in industry decreased by 7.3% year-on-year and reached a volume1) of EUR 4.54 billion. After seasonal adjustment, new orders decreased by 11.6% month-on-month.2)
New orders in industry began to decline in July after five months of year-on-year growth. The volume decreased in 8 of the 12 monitored sectors of industry.
Orders dropped the most year-on-year in manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products, manufacture of electrical equipment and manufacture of chemicals and chemical products. Orders increased year-on-year in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products, manufacture of apparel, manufacture of fabricated metal structures, and in manufacture and processing of metals.
